Week 15 - Four in the field

This beautiful week started with the reunion of Studio Sunshine in Uganda! Mirte and Jozine arrived safely on Sunday December 12th in the village Kibaale.

There was no time to sit back, because Monday we directly had a full program with the whole team: we visited the village Mpeefu in the Kagadi District to experience a so called cluster meeting where local entrepreneurs meet on a monthly base to receive orders and to update the business progress. This cluster meeting was extra special because it was one with newly trained entrepreneurs that received their certificate today. After all the business was done with the organization Healthy Entrepreneurs we had the opportunity to interview the local entrepreneurs and to test the consultation application we made to be able to make a second iteration.

On Tuesday the team worked for a whole day from the hotel since there was a lot to update and to discuss all the main insights found so far.

On Wednesday a workshop in sub-county Matale with experienced local entrepreneurs was planned. We prepared the workshop well but we had no idea what to expect. Therefore, multiple back up plans were prepared too.

The workshop was way more fruitful and successful than we expected. The 7 entrepreneurs were talkative and it went very well. The workshop started with introduction games that seem to be effective ice-breakers. After that we got more into depth. At this workshop many new insights were gained on among others how people run their businesses and what their dreams are for Healthy Entrepreneurs and for the country Uganda. It was a beautiful meeting and we learned a lot.

After some very successful days, unfortunately the team needs to split up again: G-Young and Chéron are heading back to the Netherlands (after we have celebrated Chérons birthday!). We hope for a safe journey for them. Mirte and Jozine will stay for another week in Kibaale. After the Christmas holidays, the team will be back together to work on the third and final phase of this amazing project.
