Week 8 - The First Phase Completed!

This week we worked hard on finishing the first phase of our project and were calmly successful! The team worked on creating a concise and comprehensive report on activities, insights, and decisions that we came across the last few months. These aspects of the process so far is now taking us into a really interesting design direction to pursue the upcoming three months. We've come very far since August and are really proud of how we have worked together to get things done.

To finish up the first phase of our project, we had to establish the clear objective we want to tackle and set this up in the form of a design brief. It was tougher than we thought; we had a lot of data and insights from our research, but clearly defining the direction concisely was a challenge for us. It was probably because we gathered so much information, it was hard to filter and prioritise. Receiving feedback from our coach and client, and visualising the whole context helped us see things from a bigger perspective and create a more coherent storyline for our design direction.

Next week we look forward to starting the second phase of our project. Throughout the first phase we often had to stop ourselves from thinking in solutions, and in this phase ideas are more than welcome! We are very excited to progress further. On top of this, we will be booking our tickets to Uganda for our planned field research and user test during the later stage of this project!
