Week 3 - the Fever Management project

Defining the project

This week we started building a framework around the different target groups by making use of a template for framing and research questions. This helped us to gain insight in what we already know and what we don't know yet but is necessary for the project.

Working with the template for framing and research questions

Wednesday we formulated our project vision and focus and we started documenting all the findings and information we obtained so far. Besides, we found a suiting name for the project! From now on it will be the Fever Management project.

Current market

We got the opportunity to take a look at several smart thermometers and other measurement tools we got from team Excelsior. This team is working for the same company (Healthy Entrepreneurs) but they have a different project focus. It is interesting and good to get acquainted to what already exists on the market and to know what technical solutions and possibilities there are.

Gaining knowledge

Thursday was all about gaining knowledge. In the morning we went to the presentation of team Excelsior that arrived back from Uganda last week. This was very helpful for us to gain insights in the Ugandan culture and current situation of the health system.

Presentation of team Excelsior

In the afternoon we attended the presentation of public health Professor Oladimeji Oladepo from Nigeria about malaria in Nigeria and the practical challenges with current diagnostics. This presentation was organised by Delft Global Talk.

On Friday we had an informal meeting with Professor Oladimeji Oladepo and PhD student Temitope Agbana to ask questions.

Coming soon…

Next week we will have some exciting agenda points! We have an appointment with the Students4Sustainability foundation and hopefully we will finally meet with the company Healthy Entrepreneurs.

We got our business cards!
